Scholarship Submission

The Grand Targhee Ski & Snowboard Foundation’s goal is to provide every child interested in participating in GTSSF programming and who also has the skills/ability to participate at the required level with the opportunity to join. Applicants should demonstrate a need for assistance, a strong desire to participate, and a strong overall work ethic. 

Scholarship Program Guidelines

• The maximum scholarship amount awarded is 50% of program fees. 
• Returning athletes and new athletes are both eligible for scholarships.
• All decisions to award scholarships are final and made at the sole discretion of the Scholarship Selection Working Group.
• The Work Deposits / Membership are not available for scholarship.
• The Scholarship Submission Deadline is October 20th.
• Athletes submitting a scholarship application must first be registered in the desired programs and pay 50% of current program fees at the time of submission.

Application & Distribution of Funds

• Awarded scholarship funds will be applied directly to GTSSF program fees.
• Awarded scholarship funds do not apply to event fees:
  • Award recipients must pay entrance and coaching fees for any competition events they compete in.
  • Award recipients will be required to pay all of their travel costs according to team guidelines if they choose to participate in any team events requiring travel.

Scholarship Considerations

• Financial need, past team membership, attitude and behavior of the athlete, and past scholarship recipients fulfilling required volunteer hours.
• Consideration is given to multiple-athlete families.
• Athletes and their families are responsible for at least 8 hours of volunteer work with the team per scholarship and  16 hours per family for multiple scholarship recipients. Not completing required hours may affect an athlete’s eligibility to receive scholarships in the future.
• All other team requirements may apply.

Scholarship Application Steps

1. Completed program registration with at least a 50% deposit.
2. Completed one Scholarship Application Form per athlete.
3. Await our annual scholarship announcement
4. Receive your scholarship & fulfill your scholarship commitment.
